ABOUT
My name is Emerson Gould and I am a 17-year-old equestrian from Suwanee, Georgia. For over 12 years, riding has been an integral part of my life. I currently compete in the 3'3"-3'6" equitation under Stephanie Cumming at Pecan Lane Farm. Through the years, I've been privileged to clinic with some of the greats such as Candice King and Tracy Forman.
While competing at a high level, I have received accolades to represent the hard work and hours spent in the barn. In 2023, I qualified for prestigious national finals such as the EMO Jump Seat Medal Finals, NHS Hamel Finals, and Maclay Finals. Notably, my horse Gator, and I have shared remarkable achievements together, such as ranking in the Top 30 after going 8th in the order at NHS Hamel Finals for both of our first times at the National Horse Show. I am consistently in the top 5 out of competitive groups of riders in various equitation classes. Additionally, I am a member of the Zone 4 IEA team where I have had multiple top placings across fences and flat and enjoy supporting and cheering on my 22 teammates.
Outside the realm of horses, my academic endeavors at Buford High School have led me to clubs like BETA, Spanish Club, Advanced Dance, contributing as the Wrestling Manager. I excel in the classroom currently taking 3 AP courses and boasting a weighted GPA of 3.88 and an average academic percentage is a 92%. While I'm still exploring potential college majors, I'm inclined toward a Pre - Veterinary Medicine or Pre-Medical pathway as I would love to continue to show my love for helping animals and humans through my future career.
I aim to blend my love for horses and competing at a high level with my academic goals, hoping to ride for a Division I college team. I believe my strengths in and out of the saddle as well as my IEA experience will prove to be valuable to any collegiate team I pursue.
